Reviews of Suizenji Comfort Hotel

I recently stayed at Suizenji Comfort in Kumamoto and was pleasantly surprised. The room, although slightly worn down, was clean and spacious. The large bath and spacious bathroom were a nice touch, and the view from the 8th floor was unexpectedly good. The staff were friendly and spoke English, which made communication easy. I had a comfortable one-night stay at a good price.
No hangers by the exit.

Room was very small and had a strange smell. Air conditioning ineffective and windows locked shut. A tram ride from the centre. Breakfast room was rather unpleasant with filthy carpet in the highly trafficked areas.

This is your basic, bland business hotel. I had zero problems, in other words, the room was clean (albeit small), the staff was polite, etc. But the hotel also has zero attractions. Very close from Suizenji Park, and reasonably close to Kumamoto Castle.

Suizenji Comfort Hotel was chosen by my director for our business trip to Kumamoto, and I must say it was a great choice. The hotel features a massage service, which was a perfect way to unwind after a long day of meetings. The Japanese restaurant on-site also served delicious meals, allowing me to experience authentic local cuisine without having to venture far. The convenience of these amenities made my stay even more enjoyable.
This Suizenji Comfort Hotel was a bit further away from the town center than I expected.

Good price. Located near the Suizenji Koen and very close to a tram station.
About 20 minutes from the downtown area by tram. Not a good idea to stay here if you want to catch an early flight/bus as the first tram is at 6.15 in the morning (we had a 6.30am bus!)

During my Easter break, I stayed at a budget hotel a little outside of the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was surprisingly spacious with a large bathroom and comfortable bed. I also appreciated the option to choose between a yukata or bathrobe for lounging.
The downside to the hotel's location was that it took some time to reach the city's main attractions. there weren't many dining options in the area.

Great value for money. Clean and spacious room with large bath and comfortable work desk. Friendly and helpful staff who spoke English. Convenient location near a bus stop with easy access to surrounding areas and attractions like the park.
Can't fault anything about it.

The hotel provided a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. The room was clean and well-maintained with friendly staff. They spoke English well, which made it easy to communicate with them. The location was near a park which had some lovely cherry blossoms on display, providing a nice spot to relax. The room also had a large bathroom and the hotel provided bathrobes and yukatas, which were a nice touch.
The hotel was a bit further away from the main attractions and city center than expected, requiring some traveling by tram or train. Nearby scenery and restaurants were limited, which may discourage some visitors.

We were looking forward to staying at this hotel due to its proximity to a beautiful garden that we wanted to visit. The location turned out to be perfect as we could easily reach the garden by foot. The tram stop was just a short walk away, and it was easy to get to the city center or Suizenji Park. The room was comfortable and had enough space for us to move around freely. The bathroom was clean, and the staff provided fresh towels every day. We enjoyed the breakfast, which had a good variety of options.
The furniture in the room was a bit old and could use some updating.
